Dogge Bagge. Founded by Bob Denton and Volker Toermer (who sadly passed away in 2006).
Dave Waters joined them on Mandolin. Dave was also a member of Cutty Wren with Neil, Ruth Coetzee (nee Allen) and Jim Purvis.
Ian Samson (fiddle) joined us on a tour of the USA and Ireland in 1977.
Bob Denton - guitar, mandolin, claw hammer banjo, tin whistle, et al. Flat picking virtuoso and Bluegrass mentor.
Bob started the Barleycorn Music Club in 1975, in the old De Villiers Graaff Estate House, which at the time was the only house on Woodbridge Island, Milnerton, Cape Town.
Bob compered and performed in many SA Folk Festivals. Bob now lives in the USA and continues to play with many well known musicians. 
Biscuit Raiders. (1980/81) Steve Newman, Nielen, Stef and later Terrence Scarr.
"Buddy Bolden" Steve with Stef on trumpet - "Vaudevillerised" version of the demise of Buddy Bolden, an early New Orleans trumpeter who went mad.
Squirrel Skinners included Steve Newman, Lindsey Scott on Fiddle and Thys Rhurup on Banjo.
Stef on bass. The "Skinners" later toured Europe.
YEAST a forgotten but fun band that existed briefly in 1979 was Steve Newman, Volker Toermer on Banjo, Paul Slatter on fiddle and Stef. Paul is best remembered as a member of Shinnery.

Priscilla and the Press Studs
Formed in the late '80's was Caroline Blundell, Terrence Scarr and Stef. Who was Priscilla?
They were often joined by Neil and Nielen. Nielen is pictured on Banjo in the photo (far right) - Beattie Theater 1987.
Caroline and Terrence joined us in 2009 for the recording of Blacksmith's "FORGED" CD/DVD title and join us again this year to record a double album at Roof Top Studios. Harry Peters and Sandi Ruttenberg, friends from the Cape Town and PE music scenes. Harry lives in Villiersdorp and Sandi in the USA.
Hanna Yim (fiddle) and Sez Adamson (Pedal Steel, Dobro, Guitar) seen here at Touch of Madness Restaurant. We were fortunate to have Hanna and Sez join us in between their hectic schedule at the Barn Yard Theater. Sez's amazing Pedal Steel can be heard on our "FORGED" CD/DVD.
Hopefully they will join us on our next double album currently being recorded at Roof Top Studios.
